I just recently bought an hdmi cable for HD because it upscales the dvds, i used to have component cable and 1080p looked fine on my tv. But with HDMI and 1080p I get white little specs flashing scattered, and the quality on the ps3 menu is weird, why does 1080p with hdmi look worse compared to it on 1080p component cable? Also with HDMI with 1080i it looks fine. any help? do I need to change a setting?

I guess sadly that is the truth, odd though how if i push the display button it tells me on the tv screen 1080p, funny how they would install that in the tv it if cant work right : ( . thanks though, i am still happy its HD. (cant pick best answer yet)

We just got a new 47-inch LG LCD HDTV. We have it hooked up to our digital cable box/DVR. The picture looked fine, but then we went out and bought a Belkin HDMI cable since we didn’t have an extra one since the only other one we have is being used by our 37-inch LCD in our bedroom. As soon as I plugged in the new HDMI cable from the back of the TV to the cable box, the picture looked pretty fuzzy. So, I removed the HDMI cable and the picture is still fuzzy. The picture was totally fine before we plugged in the HDMI cable, but now it is all fuzzy and won’t go back to normal, even after removing the HDMI cable. The funny thing is that it is only the picture on the channels that is fuzzy, but if I go into the DVR menu or TV guide listings on the cable box, that is perfectly clear. Any suggestions???
