What is the best LCD or plasma TV currently available for $1000 or less and between 37 and 42 inches?

I’m going back out to college for the year and I was thinking about getting an HDTV for my new apartment, however I don’t want to spend more than $1000. Which models do you think are best?

I have a 42 inch (Panasonic-Plasma -720) and it was ON SALE 999.99. If you want a 1080 or you cant find it on sale you are going to pay over 1000.
MoMa is on crack.
Sony is the best hands down followed closely by Samsung and then Sharp.
Yes, Panasonic does make the best plasma tv’s but you do not want a plasma tv.

Check out the link. I would recommend the Sony first, followed by the Panasonic and Sharp Aquos.
Samsung makes a very nice 37″ set, LN37A550, that you can get for under $1000.
If you want to go with 42″, try the Toshiba 42AV500. You should be able to get that for $1000 easily.
