NO! Blu-Ray is made for 1080p tv’s. It will work, but why spend the $$$ when you will NOT get the performance. Your best bet is going to a thrift shop or pawn shop & buying a cheap dvd player. Look for progressive scan players.
Blu-ray’s strength & appeal is with 1080p sets. I’d stick w/ a regular player that upconverts to 720p and be very happy with the $$ I saved.
