I have a PS3, VCR, DVD player, and satelite TV. The PS3 is HDMI into the TV. The VCR is composite, The DVD Player is S-Video, and the PS2 is Component, and the Sattelite is coaxial. I want My PS3 at 1080p, but will I have to change the TV Resolution to keep the others from looking bad. I don’t want to have to change resolutions all the time. My TV is a Philips 47 inch tv this is the model # 47PFL7422D/37

my cousin has a 32 in” vizio and he says its way to sensitive to play halo and his other 37 inch high def lags?
could anyone help me out with reasons why this might be?
the only thing i can think of is that he might not have the hdtv switch on on his av cables.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

I am looking at a pair of tv’s, a philips 32pfl5322d, and a sharp lc-32sh12u. Both are 32 inch lcd’s, and they are about the same price, 750-800. the main spec differences i can see are that the philips has 3200:1 contrast, while the sharp has 1200:1 contrast, and the sharp has a response time of 6ms while the philips has 8ms. the philips is slightly brighter.
i will mainly be using it to watch tv (sd for now, maybe ill get hd in a little bit), xbox 360, and dvds (i only have upconverting, no hd dvd or blu ray)
Which tv is better? are the contrast ratio and response time differences significant?
here are the links to the sites

its so hard for me to decide on my first hdtv..i want a 37 or 40 inch thats not the hard part the hard part is finding the right model and brand no matter where i read theres always someone with a negative statement thats what sucks i know there will never be a flawless review.
so im looking for 37-40 inch
will probably be watching 3-4 channels that arent in hd yet so would like a model with somewhat decent standard def
i heard great things about alot of samsung models but ive read some negatives that really sway me away like one or a few sets have sup par sound and because its very glossy any sun light can cause a problem
i really need some good recommendations and reassurance it has been pretty much been between sony and samsung, this is for my bedroom i dont need the best sound in the world but i want good sound nothing thats sounds low or anything negative about it, i read that LN40A550 has great picture but so so sound
and when watching sd tv what do you recommend stretching the image or putting in the 4:3 box please help me out as you can tell im rambling its just i want to purchase already but i want something that wont cause problems want something reliable and suits my needs

I am in the market for a nice HDTV{LCD}. I have found some systems but under specs. the aspect ratio’s are16/9 and on other systems it states that they are 800.1. First, What kind of numbers as per the aspect ratio should I be looking for. And second, is 800.1 equal to a 16/9 image. I have been looking at Magnavox and JVC. and third, would I be losing much image space from a 42inch LCD to a 37 inch LCD. Both are wide screen. This TV will be my primary. Thanks.

I just recently bought an hdmi cable for HD because it upscales the dvds, i used to have component cable and 1080p looked fine on my tv. But with HDMI and 1080p I get white little specs flashing scattered, and the quality on the ps3 menu is weird, why does 1080p with hdmi look worse compared to it on 1080p component cable? Also with HDMI with 1080i it looks fine. any help? do I need to change a setting?
N3751w 37-inch Wide screen LCD TV Display ATSC HDTV & NTSC TV Tune

I guess sadly that is the truth, odd though how if i push the display button it tells me on the tv screen 1080p, funny how they would install that in the tv it if cant work right : ( . thanks though, i am still happy its HD. (cant pick best answer yet)

well i was planning on buy a hdtv for my ps3 about 32 inch or 37 inch, which was hd ready at 720p. but i heard that if you play blueray movies on ps3, it would just down scale to 480p which is about standard tv pixels unless i have a tv that supports 1080p.
so i was wondering, was this all jus rumours or does it really downscale it. is it really worth me paying some more to buy a 1080p one?
i also found some proof

here is a another one.
btw this wont put me off the ps3 because it’s just the best

We just got a new 47-inch LG LCD HDTV. We have it hooked up to our digital cable box/DVR. The picture looked fine, but then we went out and bought a Belkin HDMI cable since we didn’t have an extra one since the only other one we have is being used by our 37-inch LCD in our bedroom. As soon as I plugged in the new HDMI cable from the back of the TV to the cable box, the picture looked pretty fuzzy. So, I removed the HDMI cable and the picture is still fuzzy. The picture was totally fine before we plugged in the HDMI cable, but now it is all fuzzy and won’t go back to normal, even after removing the HDMI cable. The funny thing is that it is only the picture on the channels that is fuzzy, but if I go into the DVR menu or TV guide listings on the cable box, that is perfectly clear. Any suggestions???
