I’m looking for a LCD 37″ TV to buy in the near future..
I shopped around a bit at Best Buy today and found a “Toshiba 37AV502R” ( http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-37AV502R-37-Inch-720p-HDTV/dp/B001TA292M ) for $587 which seems like quite a good deal.
After looking on internet a bit as well, I think that is quite a good price for a 720p 37 inch tv.
Any suggestions for a different tv? Or know of something ‘wrong’ with that TV or anything? Thanks in advance!

When you go out looking for the best LCD HDTV, you need to consider this a s being an activity that is more of an art rather than an out and out purchase, because when the first LCD TV hit the market, it was only available in small size, though now it is available in sizes up to even fifty inches in diameter, which makes it all the more necessary to learn about which one to buy and which to ignore. Furthermore, whether you are buying a large screen or one with a small screen, each type will have certain flaws in them.
No Flaws, Or One With Least Number Of Flaws
Thus, the best LCD HDTV would obviously be one that does not have any of these flaws, or the least number of them such as things like not having low contrast ratios, slow refresh rates as well as not wide enough angle of viewing. However, you can easily determine which the best LCD HDTV is if you take simple precautions before buying one, especially by choosing from among big brand names such as Sony, Panasonic, LG, Samsung and Philips as well as Sharp. In fact, you could even include other big names such as computer monitor makers like Gateway and Dell that have also entered into the fray of selling such TVs.
However, the best LCD HDTV need not necessarily be from among the big brand names, since most of these big companies buy their components from small companies, many of them from other countries, which will thus have a direct bearing on the quality of the TV, which means that you need to enquire about this aspect as well before you put your money down on a particular brand.
Nevertheless, there is certainly one thing that will help you decide which the best LCD HDTV is and that is the aspect ratio, which in some TVs (widescreen) are as high as 16 to 9, though beware that some manufacturers may actually simply be stretching the image so that it fits the screen which in turn will result in jagged as well as washed out images. However, the best HD TV will be sure to retain resolution despite the image being stretched and so you need to closely scrutinize the image on the screen to judge this important feature.
Another important feature that can help decide which the best LCD HDTV is, is the angle of viewing, since due to the technology used in making these monitors, sometimes the image becomes invisible from obtuse angles. Still, today contemporary LCD TVs are able to resolve this problem by providing visibility from even as obtuse an angle as 160 degrees.
Lastly, you need to determine which variety of TV suits you the best and decide from among standard definition, enhanced definition as well as from high definition, though you can be sure that the best HDTV would more often than not be one that is of the high definition variety.

LCD Display has many tiny cells which are called pixels. It also has fluorescent back light. This produces light to a mirror and then projects it to the screen. The excellence and sharpness of the figure that you receive also depend on the pixel. In recent times, due to the hi-tech era, images are now as true as it is because of the capability of matching precise color tones. Some of the popular models are: Samsung LN46A650, which is 46-inch, has 1080p and 120hz. Samsung LN40A650 which is 40-Inch, has 1080p and 120Hz. Comparing shops than comparing brands is more useful if you are going to buy a flat screen TV. You should also test out sites such as Target and Best Buy for great buys. Circuit City and Wal-Mart are also good sites for it. There are tons of good deals there. Things that are for extravagance before have turned into items of consumption because of the continuous development in technology. Manufacturers are now having a regular price war which gives them a smaller profit margin. Few years ago, people think that LCD TVs would just be feasible in tinier sizes. Now that we have known about Samsung, Westinghouse Digital, and also Sharp and LG Philips, it is now safe to say that all those past notions are not true. If you can not still decide which LCD TV you are going to buy, here are some tips that will surely help on making your decision. You should first consider your money. Do a budget for buying your LCD TV. Second, choose the size of the TV you will buy. It should always fit with the size of your room. 27? is the typical panel size but it still depends on your definite needs. Third, think of the features you are looking for in a TV. Various LCD sets appear in the company of memory card slots. Camcorders are also part of LCD sets sometimes. Fourth, consider where you like speakers to be at. Do you want it to be on either sides of the panel or you just want it at the bottom?Fifth, make sure viewing angles will fit to the arrangements of seating in your room. Sixth, ask yourself, ?What quality of picture do I want?? For instance, if you are fond of bigger screens compared to 30?, 1366 X 768 resolution will be suggested. Finally, be friendly to other experienced customers of a store. Ask them about the TV you desire to buy because their answers would really be a big help. The store staffs? recommendations will also be credible because they know much about this thing. —————–To know more information about LCD TVs, visit Erratic World Site.
My 32 inch Philips Flat-Panel LCD HDTV fell of my tv stand and now the screen is cracked, I hear trying to get it repaired will cost just about as much as buying a new one or maybe even more. So now I am looking to purchase a new one. Now the Philips was great as I would recommend it to anyone looking for a excellent tv under $1000 dollars as u will not be disappointed.By the way here is the link of it http://www.store.philips.com/b2c_redesign/b2c/productdetail.do?productguid=432889FB3ACA008E00000000828BD4724560C414099A00BB00000000828BD538&productarea=432889FB3ACA008E00000000828BD472&scenario=catalog&shop=DIRECT
I would buy it again honestly but i want something better. Maybe a 37 inch now and one with an pc input as the Philips did not come with one It will be used for playing my 360 also so it will need a fast response time. I was looking into the Sony Bravia XBR Series but it costs more than $1200 for just a 32in. Any recommendations you guys have will be very helpful. Thank you.
